  Tested Experience And Education:

Scott Blunk founded GreenBuilt (www.greenbuilt.com) in 2003 with the mission of bringing green building to the mainstream, making “an environmentally friendly approach” the norm rather than the exception.

Scott graduated as a mechanical engineer from Purdue and went to work at Ford Motor Company where he worked as an engineer. Scott then joined the Peace Corps and spent three years in Cameroon teaching Physics and Chemistry and later managed a staff and team of researchers at The Elephant Camp. Upon his return to the United States he was awarded a graduate fellowship to Marquette University where he completed his MBA in 2003.

After completing his MBA, Scott moved to California to continue his education at UC Davis and began a Ph.D. in Economics. Scott, while still enrolled in the program, began to buy and refurbish homes using green products and technologies – a natural fit for Scott.

Scott continues to reside in West Sacramento and is serving as a Commissioner on Sacramento’s Historic Preservation commission as well as the USGBC’s LEED for Homes Core Committee. He has recently served as a Commissioner on West Sacramento’s Housing Advisory Commission.

Scott is dedicated to building science, green construction, and has emerged as a leader in his field with years of practical experience, education, and research in the field of green building. He now consults on energy related issues for Bonney Plumbing, Heating and Air, CalCERTS, Inc., Richard Heath and Associates, Inc., and teaches at Los Rios Community College.

Now through GBSG, Scott has expanded beyond the mechanics of green building and is consulting with various municipalities, general contractors, and developers, evaluating the performance of existing buildings, and offering solutions to building performance issues. Scott is a licensed General Contractor, Real Estate Broker, both BPI and HERS I and II certified, a GreenPoint Rater, and LEED Rater as well as a GreenPoint Professional and LEED AP.
